How XDBay escrow works

XDBay escrow protects both sides: the client reserves the agreed amount before the work starts, and the contractor is paid once the result is handed over and accepted.

Settlements run in USDT. The funds are reserved for a specific project and are not passed to the contractor until the work is complete.

Process

Five steps of a secured deal

1

Agreeing the terms

The parties fix the scope and the deliverable, the price, deadlines, milestones and acceptance criteria. Before starting, both sides accept the XDBay rules and terms.

2

Reserving the funds

The client transfers the agreed amount in USDT into escrow. The funds are reserved for the project and are not passed to the contractor until the work is complete.

3

Doing the work

The contractor delivers the project on the agreed terms and hands over the result. Agreements, changes and materials are kept inside XDBay.

4

Reviewing the result

The client checks the work against the criteria agreed in advance. If the result matches the terms, they confirm acceptance.

5

Payout to the contractor

Once acceptance is confirmed, the reserved funds are released and transferred to the contractor less the applicable fees.

What happens in case of a disagreement

If the client and the contractor disagree about the result or about how the terms were met, the funds stay reserved until the situation is resolved.

When a disagreement is reviewed, the following is taken into account: the project description, the agreed milestones and deadlines, the acceptance criteria, the messages inside XDBay, the files and materials handed over, the repository history and the interim demos of the result.

The dispute review procedure and any possible refund are governed by the XDBay Escrow Rules. Until a resolution, the disputed funds stay reserved.

A note on terminology

The wording "money in an escrow bank account" may only be used where a legally established account exists. For USDT the correct wording is: "the funds are reserved in XDBay escrow", "the payment is secured and assigned to the project". Before publication it must be settled exactly who holds the funds: the platform, a licensed partner or a smart contract.
